Saudi Arabia bags 27th rank on UN Happiness Index

The World Happiness Report 2020, issued by the United Nations saw the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rank 27th, a step forward from last year when it ranked 28th. In 2018, it ranked 33. It is also the second in the Arab world, the first being UAE.

The report ranked 186 cities globally and measures the indicators of happiness, well-being and quality of life, and it is the eighth report since the launch of the index.

The report predicted that the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Madinah would enter the list of the best 20 cities in the world in the future, and Makkah would reach 35.
