Information Minister praises Saudi Arabia’s decision about pilgrimage

Manama, Minister of Information Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is serving millions of pilgrims and Umrah performers from around the world, has taken the right decision regarding pilgrimage this year.

In a statement to Saudi Okaz newspaper, the Information Minister praised the decision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to organise pilgrimage this year for a limited number of citizens and residents. He described the decision as “responsible” reflecting the wise humanitarian approach of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to ensure performing the Islamic pillar continues without being hampered while maintaining security and safety of the pilgrims.

The minister affirmed that the kingdom’s  conscious decision to ensure performance of the fifth pillar of Islam while taking the necessary preemptive measures to face coronavirus-related challenges received Arab, Islamic and international praise. He added the decision was also highly commended by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Grand Mosque as well as religious and health establishments for it reflects keenness of the Saudi leadership to protect the life of pilgrims and Umrah performers.

The Minister of Information expressed thanks and respect to the Saudi authorities for the services and care given to the pilgrims and Umrah performers, reiterating Bahrain’s support to all measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to preserve its security and stability and protect its people. He also lauded Saudi Arabia’s leadership of the Arab and Islamic world on the path of security, peace and prosperity.
