Indian Railways suspends trains to several routes. Platform tickets priced higher

Taking cognisance of mounting COVID-19 cases in India, the Railway has decided to suspend train services between stations in three important locations. The stations affected are, Delhi Sarai Rohilla and Pathankot (from March 18 to March 30); New Delhi to Firozpur Cantt (from March 20 to March 29); and Jabalpur to Atari. The restrictions are implemented from March 21 to April 1.

In another attempt to discourage people from crowding at railway stations, the government has also increased the prices of platform tickets to 400%. The price has been raised from Rs 10 to Rs 50.
