Foreign Minister receives members of GCC Supreme Council Advisory Board

Manama: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, received in his office at the Ministry’s General Court today members and representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Supreme Council Advisory Board, Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, Nasser Yousif Al Emadi, Ali Abdullah Al Aradi, Dr. Abdullah Khalifa Al Thawadi and Ahmed Sabah Al Salloum. The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Regional and GCC Affairs, Ambassador Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, and the Assistant Undersecretary for GCC and Arab Countries Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Mohamed Abdulla Jameel.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the members of the advisory board of the GCC Supreme Council, congratulating them on the royal order appointing them as representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the advisory board, which reflects their sincere national efforts and high competence.

The Minister also praised the relentless efforts exerted by Head of the Kingdom’s delegation, Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al Khalifa, and her remarkable contributions over the past years during which she represented the kingdom in the advisory board. He noted the key role played by the board in preparing studies in various fields to promote joint Gulf work and cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of constructive efforts exerted by the board to boost cooperation between the GCC member states, expressing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to provide all forms of support and assistance to the representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the advisory board, wishing them further success.

For their part, the board members expressed appreciation in meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs and reviewed the missions entrusted to the board. They also underscored keenness to exert all efforts required to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in this important Gulf body in order to enhance cooperation and joint coordination between the GCC countries as well as achieve the aspirations of their peoples for further cooperation and integration in all areas.
