Bahrainis set pioneering model in voluntary work, says Speaker

Manama: Representatives Council Speaker, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, paid tribute to the Bahraini people for their sacrifice, patriotism and dedication. She affirmed that they have set a pioneering model in voluntary work and dedicated their capabilities and potentials to ensure the kingdom’s growth and prosperity in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Marking the International Volunteer Day, which is observed on December 5 every year, she said that the exceptional period because of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has shown the humanitarian sense and national responsibility of the Bahraini people who volunteered to participate in the frontlines in the national campaign to fight the virus. She praised their remarkable contribution as part of Bahrain taskforce, led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. She stressed that the role of the volunteers, be they citizens of residents, constitutes an inspirational source for societies in promoting the spirit of dedication for the nations and humanity.

The Representatives Council Speaker pointed out the Representatives Council’s unwavering support to the national efforts in the voluntary and humanitarian field. She also underscored keenness to upgrade legislation and laws to enable the humanitarian and voluntary organisations to assume their role thoroughly and proactively.
